Cunoscutul regizor și scenarist canadian Philippe Lesage va fi președintele Juriului Bucharest International Film Festival (BIFF) din acest an. Inițial realizator de documentare, Philippe Lesage a intrat în cinematografia narativă în anii 2010 cu filmele Copenhague: A Love Story, The Demons (Les Démons) și Genesis (Genèse). Filmul Genesis a câștigat numeroase premii printre care Lupul de Aur (Festivalul New Cinema, Montreal), Premiile pentru cel mai bun film și cel mai bun regizor la Seminci din Valladolid (Spania) și cel mai bun film la Los Cabos International Film (Mexic). Filmul a fost, de asemenea, selectat la renumitul Muzeu de Artă Modernă și Societatea de Film din Lincoln Center ‘s New Directors/New Films Festival, AFI FEST și Rotterdam Film Festival.

Jeff is invited by his friend Max to travel deep in the woods and stay at the isolated estate of acclaimed director Blake Cadieux. He has high expectations for the trip:
Cadieux is an artist he greatly admires – plus Aliocha, Max’s older sister, with whom he is secretly in love, is also coming. The untouched and hostile forest and the director’s huge cabin become the territory where the youthful search for ideals and freedom confronts the wounded egos of the adults.
